Context and Rationale

The need for neutral verification infrastructure

African production is increasingly referenced in institutional procurement, trade finance and regulatory contexts.
However, verification mechanisms often rely on fragmented documentation or marketing driven certification models.

Made by Africa was established to provide a structured, neutral framework capable of producing repeatable and auditable verification outputs.

What Made by Africa is not

Made by Africa is not a certification body.

It does not issue endorsements, rankings or commercial approvals.

It operates as verification infrastructure — applying documented criteria consistently across submissions.

Trust requires structure, not narrative.

Governance Framework

Governance & neutrality

The system is designed to operate independently of commercial incentives.

Verification outcomes do not generate financial upside based on approval or rejection.

Criteria are applied consistently regardless of producer size, geography or market value.

Decisions are anchored to documented evidence and preserved in structured records.
